Real ale was discontinued in May 2015 but reintroduced in July 2018 as part of a rebranding as a "Craft Union Free House" (part of Ei Group). At the same time the pub was considerably improved by a refurbishment. But don't come here looking for "craft" beer - even the keg offerings are very much mainstream. Check opening hours with pub.”

The pub overlooks the entrance to Hayes station, and is served by numerous bus routes. Up to eight real ales are served, dispensed by gravity from a cold room at the rear of the bar. Ales will normally be sourced from Kent breweries, with an occasional guest providing variety. The Kentish theme extends to other drinks, including wine and gin, and also to the bar snacks, the range of which will be increased over time. The distinctive premises, which were once a bank and more recently an accountancy office, are quite large by micropub standards with plenty of seating available. Fitting out is still taking place both internally and externally, so Bromley CAMRA will update this review - and the photos - later in the year when this has been done.
