After a period of closure, this site reopened in 2025 with a new name and under new management. The Hawthorn is managed by Peter Creed & Tom Noest, who operate five upmarket gastropubs in the Cotswolds.
Drinking space is at the front with a dining room at the back, and the focus in the Hawthorn is on simple pub food, with a straightforward drinks menu and beer selection; beer remains tied to Brakspear who previously operated the pub and there are two handpumps for cask ale. Food is sourced as much as possible from existing Cotswold suppliers and includes bar snacks, steak nights, chicken nights, and Sunday roasts. The food has been described in reviews as "great value" and the pub as "a grand slice of the English countryside just a stone's throw from Queen's Park Rangers FC".
WCs are upstairs.
