The California was for a while until 2015 called the Belmont. Seating areas to the left and right of the entrance are set out principally for eating, and there are special promotions, such as quiz and steak nights on Thursdays. There is a terraced garden to the rear. Trains run regularly to London Victoria via Sutton, and to Epsom Downs.
